Boston marathon bombing

 

The tragic blasts that ocurred the past April 15 show us how fragile life is. We don't know why this happens; an act which is justified for religious or political reasons that affects the worldwide community. It's a pity to live in a world that doesn't respect the cultural and ethnic diversity. It is important to make a reflection on what we are doing as human beings to promote an attitude of brotherhood, leaving outside pride and prejudice that still exist.

Reading Journal 3: A chosen news: The human ancestor








 
Finding humanlike skeleton remains, is a magnificent discovery for anthropology field, especially when the parts generate new approaches about possible human ancestors. That is the case of the two-million-year-old remains of several partial skeletons belonging to a previously unknown humanlike species found in 2008 near Johannesburg.  I think this finding will contribute to the Science in the quest of the origins of humankind that are related to history.

Reading Journal 2: Comment about the article "Advert turns air into drinking water"


A billboard which attracts people for its dual function: the message to students to study in that University and, to turn air into water is extremely good. In this particular case, there is a creative way to use technology. This advertisement gives an immediate and practical solution to local people of the village Of Bujama, Peru. They have a big problem, which is drought. Solving this issue this advertising technique goes forward in the development of new ways to use technology efficiently.

Reading Journal 1 "Are people being manipulated by mass media?"

In his paper (Wires and lights in a box), Edward Murrow makes a radiograph of the corporations that control broadcasting of TV shows. He highlights the lack of seriousness that have those programs and the television in general. The show business is over people´s interests. He declares his point of view as a complaint in order to call the audience's attention about what happens in the US at that time in the 50's.
